ATVS7010

Started testing and repairing my 70cm ATV transmitter after loss of power during the previous IARU ATV Contest.
The transmitter was last used somewhere in the 90’s and in my expectation it had an output power of about 10…20W after amplification with a power module. Unfortunately the combination delivered less then 0.5W.

To isolate the problem I tested the power amplifier first, by putting a 13dBm signal of my signal generator at the input. Hereby measuring an output power of about 8W. So the power amplifier seems to work OK.
Viewing the output signal of the ATVS7010 on the spectrum analyzer, there was only an output power of about 4dBm. Readjusting the filters at the output stage raised the output power to 10dBm. 10dBm or 10mW must be enough to drive a power module at about 4W.
The M57745 module is specified for 35W SSB, so in practice must be able to generate about 8W AM ATV.

The transmitter module has to be adjusted again because of the audio signal outside of the 70cm band. This can probably done with the 3 helical filters.

After adjusting the transmitter module, no audio and video attached. Power supply voltage 13V
Measured output power on a Daiwa NS-663 is about 8W.

After adjusting the transmitter module, audio and video attached from a HDMI to video-generator. Power supply voltage 13V
Measured output power on a Daiwa NS-663 is about 2W.
